Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Social Work from San Jose State University. She began working in Chajul, Guatemala in 2003 and has since spent significant time collaborating with local educators, families, and leaders to support education and community development initiatives. Her work is rooted in long-term relationships and community-led approaches to expanding educational opportunities.
