Cecilia is from Chajul and completed middle school with the support of her grandfather. Continuing to pursue her educational goals, she attended high school three hours away in Uspantán where she earned a diploma in computer sciences in 2011. After joining Limitless Horizons Ixil, she took a vocational class in computer repair before going on to earn her bachelor’s degree in systems engineering. Cecilia is currently pursuing a master’s in information security, and is the first known woman in Chajul to do so. As a technology teacher, she takes pride in equipping students with the computer skills they will need to face a world increasingly reliant on technology.
