Offering New Perspectives on Gender Roles & Gender Equality Every month, Limitless Horizons Ixil hosts workshops for our Youth Development Program scholars to provide them with access to information and resources addressing social issues. We also educate their parents and provide training about tools to better communicate about these issues with their children. We recently hosted a workshop for both parents and scholars on gender equality to expose everyone to different perspectives and promote social and economic equality within their families. We Are Chajul: The Impact of Our Community Engagement Trip In early August, we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful group of visitors during our community engagement trip. Everyone in the group brought lots of fun and kindness to our scholars and library members, and the teachers who joined brought particularly valuable knowledge to share with our librarians. The project the visitors made possible at San Gaspar Middle School was one of the most exciting parts of the trip. The group installed a cement patio (which was previously just a mud floor) and painted an official entrance sign for...

A fantastic start as an intern at the community library

by Cecilia Jacinta, Library Intern (translated by Léa Valenti, International Coordinator)  I started working in the Saber Sin Límites (Limitless Knowledge) Community Library in March. I have learned a lot especially with my communications skills in Spanish and how to work with children of all ages. The library is a great space for the youth of Chajul because it is the only public space in the community where children...
